My wife and I have hosted many parties at Laid-back Fitness over the years, ever since Luke’s first birthday back in 2015. However, when we recently celebrated Jack’s 8th birthday, something hit a little differently…I realized how perfect our venue is for Kids’ Birthday Parties!
Nowadays, it’s rare to find a place that feels personal, relaxed, and genuinely hospitable in the corporate world of kids’ entertainment. Having been to so many other places over the years, this party reminded me why we do birthdays the way we do at LbF.
A Different Feel Than Most Venues
If you’ve been to enough kids’ parties, you know the pattern:
- You’re mixed in with several other parties being held at the same time
- There are strict rules about food, drinks, and decorations
- The timelines are tight and the transitions are rushed
- The staff is doing their best but are stretched thin.
Don’t get me wrong – they’re still fun and awesome!
What I’ve always appreciated about Laid-back Fitness, and what stood out even more at Jack’s party, is that it doesn’t feel corporate. It feels personal; like hosting at home but with better equipment and fewer things to worry about! However, the biggest differentiator is…
You Get the Entire Place to Yourself!
This is a game-changer! At Laid-back Fitness, there are no overlapping groups, no shared chaos, and no sense of being rushed out the door the second your time is up.
This totally changes the vibe. The kids spread out, explore, challenge themselves, and play without feeling crowded. The parents can actually settle in, chat, and enjoy being there instead of counting down the minutes until it’s over, or until they get shuffled to the next room.
Hospitality!
When we arrived, our staff came out to the parking lot to help us bring in our food, drinks, and supplies. Not just because we own the place, this hospitality is extended to all of our hosts! Personally, I’ve never experienced this at other party venues.
Bring Your Own Food!
Another thing I appreciate, especially after attending other parties, is the freedom. At LbF, you are not locked into any food packages or restricted to the venue’s food/drink offerings. You bring what works for your family. Whether that’s ordering pizza (FYI – we get a 10% discount at Pier Pizza across the street), serving the birthday ninja’s favorite snacks, or bringing full-on charcuterie spreads, it’s up to you. That flexibility is huge for our hosts, and again, makes the experience feel more personal.
Fixed Pricing
Another awesome feature is that you don’t pay extra per kid. At Laid-back Fitness, the birthday party pricing is fixed, so you don’t have to worry about paying more for your guest’s siblings, or a friend who didn’t rsvp. FYI – our Ninja party is $599 for up to 30 kids, and our Epic party is $949 for up to 20 kids.
The Ninja Experience!
Of course, none of this matters if the kids aren’t having fun. That’s definitely not an issue! The kids climbed, jumped, swung, ran, laughed, and challenged themselves nonstop. No screens, no boredom, no “what’s next?” moments – just movement, confidence, and pure fun! And the best part? The kids left tired and happy; not the overstimulated tired, the just-finished-intense-play kind of tired.
A Relaxed Setting for Parents, Too
LbF really cares about the grown-up guests. At this party, adults weren’t hovering or stressed. They were talking, laughing, catching up, and in this case, watching a football game together. They weren’t stuck in a corner or trying to find their kids among the chaos.
The Cleanup (or Lack Thereof)
When the party was over, everyone went home, and the dreaded final stage of breakdown and cleanup was completely taken care of by the LbF Staff! We went home to a clean house with no mess and no post-party exhaustion; just a great memory and a very happy 8-year-old!
Recap
Again, we’ve hosted many birthday parties at Laid-back Fitness, and have attended dozens elsewhere. What continues to stand out is the fact that LbF isn’t trying to be a factory for kids’ parties. It’s a place where families feel welcome, supported, and relaxed. It’s less corporate, more personal, more flexible, and more human. After experiencing it again, this time through the lens of a parent who’s seen the alternatives, I appreciate it even more!
If you’re looking for a party that’s fun for kids, easy for parents, flexible with food, private, low stress, and doesn’t feel like a corporate assembly line, we’d love to host you!
