Up-regulated Strength Day

Finally a good day!  It seems like I’ve been auto-regulating my WOD’s lately and the good days have been way too few and far between.  Thanks to the sun, or the iced coffee on the way to the gym, or simply the fact that I wanted to be there, yesterday turned out to be a day where I added on instead of pulling back.

After a warmup of a 400m run, lunges with twists, butt kicks, inchworms and burpess, I hit the following all out:

  • Deadlift: 245×5, 5, 5 then 255×5, 5.
  • Feeling the flow: 275×5 (over/under grip), 295×5.
  • CNS Prime = russian lunges x4 before each set
  • Push Press: 135×5,5,5,4,5.
  • CNS Prime = HSPU x 3 +/- before each set
  • Muscle-ups: 2 + 1fail, 1 + 1fail, then chinups x 10
  • GHR: 12, 12, 12
  • GHR situps: 12, 12, 12

1st set of DL at 245:

An example of CNS priming with russian lunges:

@ 275 pretty snappy

@ 295 still pretty good speed and execution

Push Press #3 – need to work on the triple extension on the clean

Push Press #5 – a little better on the clean.  Press should be more explosive.
